Step into a lush forest brimming with life, joyful colours, and endless tiny details to discover. Summer Dreaming is a perfect example of how I paint for myself; I create what I wish existed, and get completely lost in the process.
At the heart of this mini world is a slumbering fox, but look closer and you'll find many of my favourite creatures: a cheeky little robin, a sleeping hedgehog, a snoozing owl, and a red squirrel who's wide awake and full of mischief. Flowers, butterflies, and layers upon layers of detail invite you to get lost in the forest, discovering something new each time you look.
Someone once commented that I make my job harder by painting so many details — and they're not wrong! But getting lost in a piece is part of the journey for me. This is pure escapism, pretty to the eyes, and a hopeful piece created with love.
Each print is produced locally in small batches by Print North East, using my original artwork, ensuring a quality finish and a more considered, sustainable approach to production.
