Fox in spring~ Original painting

I've loved wildlife since I was a child, and over the years that love has shaped so much of what I create. There's a particular magic in painting animals, in trying to capture not just how they look, but how they make you feel when you encounter them.

The fox that inspired this painting appeared in my garden one morning, quite unexpectedly. I looked out of the window and there it was, curled up in a patch of sunlight, fast asleep, entirely at ease. It was one of those small, perfect moments that just lifts your spirits completely. I stood and watched for as long as I dared, not wanting to disturb it.

Fox in Spring is my attempt to hold onto that feeling. Part of a series celebrating five of my favourite creatures set against the seasons I love most, this piece places the fox in the warmth and colour of spring  surrounded by fresh blooms and new growth, peaceful and unhurried. There's a quiet joy to it that I hope finds its way into whatever room it calls home.

Painted using specialist colourfast, water-based paint on glass and set in a beautiful white wooden moulded frame.
