I painted this one on a long summer's evening, completely lost in the joy of it. A whole woodland world came to life on this rectangular wooden frame — a fox padding softly through the undergrowth, a hedgehog snuffling among the flowers, a stag standing proud, a badger ambling home, a squirrel mid-leap, an owl keeping watch, a bluetit singing its heart out, and a rabbit tucked into the lush green somewhere if you look closely enough. It makes me smile every single time I look at it, and I hope it does the same for you.
